We will have the honour & pleasure to receive once again Sera Solstice for a new East Coast Tribal weekend in Grenoble.
"Sera Solstice is most known for creating the East Coast Tribal style of Bellydance, characterized by Lunar and Solar movement categories, which use extensive full-body movement, intense multi-layer hipwork within pop’n lock elements, tied together by deep emotive power and story-telling flow.
Sera Solstice is the founder and director of Solstice Studio: a Bellydance Studio in New York City.
She sees bellydance as a means for building self-empowerment, expression, and creativity. Sera is director/choreographer of the dance troupe Solstice Ensemble, and has taught numerous workshops and performed throughout Europe, South America, and Asia. Sera’s Choreography has been described as “complex, content-rich, sublime, haunting, psychedelic, technically superb, at the forefront of evolution of bellydance as an art form.”

Sculpture in Motion :
Add drama and beauty to your dance by approaching choreography as a sculpture moving through space. In this workshop we will look at body-line, contrast, and movement-style to create dynamic performance. Sera applies her 15 years of her previous career as a professional sculptor and sculpture instructor to dance.

3.30pm – 5pm :
Fluid Sculpture choreography : applying sequences, travel movements,and ideas from previous workshop, dancers will learn part of a choreography by Sera Solstice which will incorporate Lunar and Solar movements, as well as improvisation elements.

SUNDAY
10am - noon
East Coast Tribal Drum choreo : using techniques of pop-n-locks, and layered movements, dancers will engage in an energetic drum-solo choreography (East Coast Tribal style) to the music of Madhuro.
